We were approached by a distribution and manufacturing company with 200 unique products and over 2000 variations that was looking to take their products online.

They had set up an eCommerce website a few years prior, but had very little online traffic and virtually no sales. So we took a look and what we noticed was that even though they had their product catalogue online, the items were difficult to find, and even if a customer found a product they were looking for and purchased it, they would likely leave the website without being aware of all the companies available products.

The website had a lot of informational aspects to the design, that while it may have looked nice, it was detracting from the customers ability to view the products. (the purpose of an eCommerce site is sales, and the website design should reflect that). So we removed that from the home page and added it to an “about us” page.

We then created categories and picture collages so virtually all 200 of their products (2000+ with variations) were visible directly from the homepage.

Next we made reviewed all the product listings added content and meta tags and made sure they were synced with the Google Merchant Center Account. We then setup their Google Ads campaign utilizing a mix of product feeds and variety of campaigns. By closely monitoring, adjusting, and optimizing their campaigns we were able to achieve a 10/1 Return on Investment by the 2nd month.

In addition to online sales, they had a large increase of local orders even though we were not directly targeting those customers. The improvements in the website and performance of the Google Ads Campaigns along with “Free Google Shopping Ads” from merchant center increased visibility and orders even from areas that we were not directly targeting.

(Please note every business is unique, and performance can very depending on the products and industry)
